FIRST Robotics

FIRST is a non-profit organization that endeavors to further science education in primary and secondary schoolers. This is evident in the acronym of their name:

The IgKnighters participate in FIRST's FRC — the FIRST Robotics Competition. Another team, the Fire Senders, operates out of McQuaid Jesuit High School and participates in FIRST's FTC — the FIRST Tech Challenge. McQuaid also participates in the First Lego League (FLL), a competition which uses Lego Mindstorms robotics kits to introduce engineering concepts to younger students.
